About Jen

My husband and I are high school sweethearts and we have two beautiful children. Aside from my passion for photography, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, geocaching, building fairy houses and gardens, all things Harry Potter (yes we are total nerds), science and history, singing, playing my flute, shopping for and collecting antiques, coin and postcard collecting, and ancestry/genealogy. Oh and I LOVE Snoopy too! :)

I began my photography career simply as a mother capturing the memories of our two precious and adorable children. I am self taught in all areas of photography, using natural light, and Photoshop CS5. In addition to being a photographer, I am also a digital artist with over 17 years of experience using Photoshop therefore all of your portraits will be professionally touched-up and is included in the cost of portrait prints.

Life is such a blessing and it is so much fun to capture the beauty in it! I have a camera in my hands most of the time attempting to miss nothing! I would love to be able to take portraits for you that will last beyond a lifetime. I feel that having a moment captured in your family's life is so precious because kids grow way too fast and we never know what tomorrow holds for us. Every single time I get behind the lens I'm excited about what I will see, how the finished product will look. It's a source of creativity for me...an art. Capturing those glances, the silly smiles, the beauty in pregnancy, babies, the laughter of children, proud moments of your graduate...to see the love between two people and in family, and that one moment that takes your breath away...this is genuinely what makes me so thankful and happy. I love it...and the fact that I get to do something that I love...I cherish that. When you ask me to be your photographer, I understand that you are trusting me to capture your special moments, the moments that you look back on and smile. I also want your session to be fun, carefree, and relaxed. I sit back quietly and anticipate a moment. Sometimes it's funny...sometimes it's tender; it's always reflective of your personalities. I look forward to meeting you and working with you.
